Djenabou, who fled to Cameroon in 2014 with her husband and children, is part of a group of refugee women who work as retailers in the camp. Most of the refugees depend on humanitarian assistance for their basic needs including food. It is an activity that has given them a new lease to life.

A major reprieve A group of girls share lunch at a school in Dadaab refugees camps. The students have more time in class and fewer interruptions in learning over the course of the school year. Prior to that, varying level of cuts have had to be effected in order to avoid a complete halt in food assistance to the refugees.
