In its monthly Manufacturing Report on Business, ISM said that the report’s key metric, the PMI, came in at 58.7 (a reading of 50 or higher indicates growth), which was 1.8% below December’s 60.5, with both the PMI and the overall economy each growing, at a slower rate, for the eighth consecutive month.
