The days at Zlatibor were fulfilled with amazing workshops and teamwork. Our ‘’Go for growth’’ workshops were focused on reaching out to many more Supply Chain planners around the globe, planning how to efficiently resolve their challenges, and increase customer satisfaction.

That actually isn’t a bad analogy as I was advocating a pretty dramatic shift in the role of the kaizen workshop leaders. Thus, focusing on implementing the tools of TPS (takt time, flow, pull, etc) outside of the immediate response and problem solving context is an exercise which expends energy and gains very little sustainable change.

Combat units particularly had fallen into a very austere mindset exacerbated by short exercises where soldiers and unit-level Q staff were able to be self-sufficient for the duration.
