In this context, leaders’ most pressing concerns are reducing CO2 emissions across all tiers of the supplychain (95%) and growing e-commerce volumes (90%). Around 92% of organisations surveyed said that the ongoing relocation of the global supplychain will impact them but only 15% are equipped to deal with this.
To provide a comprehensive overview, the author draws from various academic studies, reports, and surveys to shed light on the latest trends and best practices in supplychain management. A recent survey by Accenture (2021) revealed that 72% of SMEs and 78% of startups are actively investing in digital supplychain solutions.
However, this prediction proved to only touch on how important the digital supplychain would become. Within four months, the digital transformation had already reached most supplychain organizations. Unfortunately, many supplychain entities continue to hope for a better tomorrow.
This trend will likely continue, and we’ll begin to see a lot of progress in this particular area of sustainable supplychaintransformation. The lack of social impact goals and corporate responsibility could become non-starters for future employees.
